Anyone who has experienced problems with thick snow and ice has realised the trouble taken to remove it. Tools can be useful for dealing with this problem, but probaly the most effective method  is rock salt.  Also known as Halite, rock salt is the mineral form of sodium chloride. Rock salt lowers the melting temperature of water and can help clear snow and ice.

The rocksalt we sell can be used municipally and residentially for managing ice. Because brine (a solution of water and salt) has a lower freezing point than pure water, applying salt on ice will cause it to melt.
